Recommendations for pursuing riparian carbon credits

In 2021, Dr. Richard Pritzlaff, Chair of the Biophilia Foundation, convened the American Southwest Carbon Marketplace Workgroup (ASCMW) to identify challenges and opportunities to use carbon finance for riparian areas in the soutwestern US.

The workgroup included practitioners, researchers, and policy experts from Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, who convened four times in 2021 and 2022. Discussions considered scientific, practical, financial, governance, and policy elements of the current carbon credit system in the United States.

ASCMW has released its final report, which summarizes the findings of the workgroup and provides recommendations to others interested in riparian carbon.
